What is the purpose of the water pump?
This is a fundamental component for the operation of the iron. The pump is responsible for drawing water from the tank and pushing it at a pressure of 6.0 bar directly into the boiler (or into the plate if the product is not equipped with one). Symptoms, what problems can a faulty pump cause?
QUESTION: My Braun iron does not produce steam, why?
ANSWER: If the iron does not produce any steam at all, the problem could be caused by the faulty pump or by one of the components responsible for managing the transformation of water into steam. If you never hear the pump vibrating from the moment it is turned on, it is very likely faulty.

QUESTION: My iron produces little steam, could the problem be caused by the pump?
ANSWER: If there is steam but you consider it insufficient, it is unlikely that the problem is caused by the pump but rather by a buildup of limescale. Try performing a cleaning cycle according to the instructions in the Braun manual; if you notice improvements, then the problem is indeed limescale.

To prolong the life of the pump and generally extend the lifespan of your ironing system, it is recommended to use a mixture of demineralized and tap water, but above all to periodically clean the boiler and the plate according to the instructions in the manual.
