Guide to deep fryer spare parts and maintenance

Main components available

A wide range of original and compatible spare parts for domestic and professional immersion electric fryers: cooking baskets, heating elements and plates, safety and adjustment thermostats, odour filters, lid gaskets, oil collection trays, lids, handles and levers, electrical components and power cables.

How to choose the right spare part

  1. Brand and model: printed on the body of the fryer or on the internal label; essential for checking the compatibility of spare parts.
  2. Power and wattage of the heating element: always refer to the original value to ensure the correct frying temperature and avoid overheating.
  3. Basket dimensions: check capacity in litres and physical dimensions for a compatible replacement with the fryer body.
  4. Thermostat: check the calibration and type (mechanical or digital) to ensure the correct adjustment of the oil temperature.
  5. Odour filter and gaskets: check shape, diameter and material to maintain sealing and filtering effectiveness.

Recommended maintenance

  • Clean the basket after each use to avoid residue build-up that alters the taste of fried food and degrades the oil more quickly.
  • Change or filter the oil regularly; exhausted oil overloads the heating element and accelerates thermostat wear.
  • Replace or clean the odour filter every 5–10 uses, or when strong odours or unusual smoke appear.
  • Check that the lid gaskets are not cracked or deformed: an imperfect seal causes splashes and heat loss.
  • Periodically check cables, switches and electrical connections; never immerse the electrical body in oil or water.

Common problems and solutions

  • Uneven frying or overly dark crust: worn heating element or improperly calibrated thermostat.
  • Persistent burnt smell: food residues caked on the basket or heating element, or clogged odour filter.
  • Fryer not turning on or heating poorly: check power supply, heating element, internal fuse and thermostat.
  • Excessive oil splashes: damaged lid gasket, oil level above the maximum allowed, or basket inserted incorrectly.
  • Broken basket or unstable handle: replace the component to avoid risks during use.

Quick FAQs

How often should the odour filter be replaced?

Generally every 5–10 uses, or sooner if you notice strong odours or smoke. Some activated carbon filters are single-use, while others are washable: check the manufacturer's instructions.

What to do if the oil temperature is unstable?

Check the condition of the thermostat and heating element. Also, ensure that the lid closes properly, as heat loss can compromise temperature regulation.

Heating plate or coil element: what is the difference?

Heating plates provide more even heat distribution over the oil; coil elements heat up faster but can create hotter spots. The choice depends on the model: always use the spare part specified by the manufacturer.

Is it normal for oil to splash during frying?

Some splashing is normal, especially with moist foods. If splashing is excessive, check that the basket is inserted correctly, that the oil level does not exceed the maximum indicated, and that the lid gasket is intact.
